Gutter Installation and Repair in Cypress
We hang new one-piece gutters, fix the ones that sag or leak, and set downspouts so water leaves your home where it should. Every job starts with a look at the roof edge, because that is where most gutter trouble begins.
Gutters do one job: move roof water away
Your roof sheds a lot of water in a short storm. Gutters catch it and send it to the downspouts. When they clog, sag or pull loose, water spills at the eaves, rots the fascia board and soaks the soil right next to your foundation.
We look at gutters as roofers. Our owner has 40 years of roofing experience, and that shows at the roof edge, where the drip edge, fascia and first row of shingles or tile meet the gutter. Hang a gutter a little too low and water runs behind it instead of into it.
Most of our rain comes in a few winter storms, so a bad gutter can hide for months. If wind or a storm damaged yours, we photograph it and explain how it may fit into an insurance claim. We won't tell you what your insurer will pay. That is their call.
What we do on your gutters
One-piece aluminum runs
Our machine rolls aluminum coil into gutter right there on site, so one piece spans the whole eave. The only joints sit at corners and ends, which leaves far fewer places for a drip to start. Pick a color that goes with your trim.
Hangers and proper slope
Hidden hangers go into the fascia at close spacing so the gutter holds its shape. We pitch each run toward the downspout so water doesn't sit and grow algae.
Downspouts that drain away
Downspouts are sized for the roof area feeding them. We add elbows, extensions or splash blocks so water lands away from walls, walkways and the foundation.
Fascia and drip edge check
Before anything goes up, we push on the fascia. Soft or rotted wood gets replaced first, and it is listed on your estimate so it is not a surprise later.
Repairs and resealing
Not every gutter needs replacing. We re-hang sagging sections, reseal leaking corners and end caps, and swap out crushed downspouts.
Signs your gutters need attention
Water pouring over the front
During rain, water sheets over the outer lip instead of going down the spout. That usually means a clog, the wrong slope or a gutter too small for the roof.
Sagging or pulling away
A gap between the gutter and the fascia means hangers have let go. Left alone, the run can tear off and take wood with it.
Stained or peeling fascia
Dark streaks, peeling paint or soft spots on the boards behind the gutter tell you water is getting behind it.
Puddles along the foundation
Washed-out soil, standing water or stained walls near a downspout mean the water isn't being carried far enough from your home.
Dents after wind or a storm
Bent runs, crushed downspouts or loose sections after a storm are worth photographing right away. Dated photos help if you decide to file a claim.
How a gutter job goes
- 1
Free inspection
We go up a ladder and check your gutters, downspouts, fascia and the roof edge. Every problem gets a picture, and we go over those pictures with you once we're back on the ground.
- 2
Estimate on paper
Next we write up a free estimate that breaks out the gutter footage, the downspouts and any fascia repair line by line. If a repair will do, we say so. If there's storm damage, we walk you through what your insurer will likely ask to see.
- 3
Install day
We take down the old gutters and haul them off, fix any bad fascia, then form the new runs on site and hang them. After that, a garden hose goes through every section so we can watch the water reach each spout.
- 4
Cleanup and walk-through
We pick up screws, metal scraps and old sealant from your yard. Before we leave, we show you where each downspout drains.
What moves the price of gutters
Gutter pricing comes down to how much gutter you need and what it takes to hang it right. We measure every run and put each part on paper, so you can see where the money goes. If spreading out the cost helps, financing through Service Finance Company is offered, subject to credit approval.
- Footage and stories
- Price follows the linear footage of gutter and downspout. A two-story home takes taller ladders and more time than a single story.
- Gutter size
- Larger or steeper roofs may need wider gutters and bigger downspouts to keep up with heavy rain.
- Wood behind the gutter
- Soft or rotted fascia boards get swapped out before any new gutter is hung. How much wood that takes only shows once we've pressed on it and looked.
- Drainage extras
- Extra downspouts, extensions, splash blocks or gutter guards add to the total. We only suggest them where they solve a real problem.
Gutter questions we hear
Something not covered here? (714) 710-1867
Should I replace my gutters when I get a new roof?
Often it makes sense, especially if the gutters are old or the fascia behind them is soft. We are an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, and on roof replacement jobs we plan the gutters and roof edge together so the drip edge laps into the gutter the right way. If your gutters are in good shape, we tell you to keep them.
Can you fix just one bad section?
Yes. Re-hanging a sagging run, resealing a corner or replacing one downspout is common work for us. If the whole system is worn out, we will show you why before suggesting new gutters.
Will my insurance pay for storm-damaged gutters?
It depends on your policy and the cause. Damage from wind or a falling limb is often looked at differently than normal wear or clogging. We work directly with your insurance claim by providing photos and a written estimate, but the adjuster decides what is covered.
Do I need gutter guards?
Not always. If trees drop leaves or needles on your roof, guards can cut down on clogs. If there are no trees nearby, a yearly cleaning is usually enough, and we will say so.
How long does a new gutter install take?
Most homes are done in one working day. Fascia repairs or a two-story layout can add time, and we tell you that up front in the estimate.
Have us check your gutters and roof edge
We'll climb up and look over the gutters, the boards they hang from and the shingles or tile at the edge. You get a written estimate afterward, and the visit costs nothing.
