Urgent Roof Repair in Cypress
A limb came down or wind tore shingles loose. Our first step is a tarp or temporary patch over the open spot to keep rain out. Next we photograph the damage and make a repair that lasts, and we explain the insurance steps without guessing what your insurer will pay.
When Roof Damage Can't Wait for the Usual Schedule
Some roof problems can sit until next month. Others can't. A torn-off section of shingles, a cracked run of tile or water dripping through a ceiling light all need attention soon, because every rain after that soaks the wood and drywall underneath.
Our job comes in two parts. First we stop the water with a tarp or a temporary patch. Then, once things are dry and you know where you stand with insurance, we come back and do the permanent fix. The owner has 40 years of roofing experience, and that shows in knowing what a temporary cover can handle and what it can't.
Your insurer will want proof of what happened, so we take photos before we cover anything. Small active drips that aren't storm-related usually fit better under our roof leak repair page.

What the Work Includes
- 01
Photos before anything is touched
We shoot the damage from the ground, on the roof and in the attic if we can get there. You keep every photo. Insurers often ask what the roof looked like before temporary work, and this answers that.
- 02
Tarping or a temporary patch
We fasten heavy tarps over a framed edge so wind can't peel them back. On tile roofs we work carefully around loose pieces so we don't crack more than the storm did.
- 03
Clearing debris off the roof
Branches and broken tile come down and get hauled off. Leaving them up there traps water and hides more damage.
- 04
A check of the decking
Where the roof is open, we look at the plywood underneath. Soft or delaminated sheets get noted, because they change the permanent repair.
- 05
A written estimate for the lasting repair
You get the scope in writing, line by line, at no charge. If the roof is too far gone for a repair, we say so and explain why.
Questions about Urgent Roof Repair?
Call(714) 710-1867Signs You Need Help Soon
Water coming through the ceiling
A drip, a bulge in the drywall or a wet light fixture means water has already passed through the roof layers. Turn off power to any wet fixture.
Missing shingles or slipped tile
Strong winds can lift shingles or knock tile out of line. You can often see bare underlayment or dark patches from the street.
A tree limb on the roof
Even if nothing is dripping yet, a limb can crack decking or punch through underlayment. Stay off the roof and let us look.
Flashing pulled loose
Metal around chimneys, vents and walls can bend up in high wind. Those gaps let water run straight into the wall or attic.
Gutters torn away from the fascia
A hanging gutter can pull the drip edge with it and send water behind the fascia board. Our gutters page covers the full fix.
How the Visit Goes
- 1
You call and tell us what you see
We ask where the water is showing up and what the roof is made of. If water is near outlets or lights, we'll tell you what to shut off while you wait.
- 2
We inspect and document
On site, we look over the roof and attic and take photos before any cover goes on. We explain what we found in plain words.
- 3
We stop the water
The tarp or patch goes on, the debris comes off and we clean up nails and broken pieces from your yard and driveway.
- 4
You get the written plan
We hand you a line-item estimate for the permanent repair. When you open a claim, we work with it directly. We meet your adjuster at the house and go over the photos we took. Coverage is the adjuster's decision, not ours.
- 5
We make the lasting repair
Once you approve the work, we replace damaged decking, underlayment, flashing and roofing. On shingle roofs, as an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, we can match the repair to a quality shingle line.
What Moves the Cost
The inspection and estimate are free. The cost of the work depends on how much is open, what the roof is made of and what we find underneath. You see the numbers on paper before the permanent repair starts. If paying over time helps, Service Finance Company offers financing to qualified buyers, subject to credit approval.
- Size of the damaged area
- A few shingles is a small cover and a small patch. A whole slope opened by a fallen tree is a much bigger job.
- Roof material
- Concrete and clay tile take more time to handle and set than shingles, and matching older tile can take some searching.
- Condition of the decking
- Wet plywood that has gone soft has to come out. We can't know how much until the damaged roofing is off.
- How hard the roof is to reach
- A low, single-story roof with an open driveway is quick to set up on. A second story, a sharp slope or a narrow walkway beside the house means extra safety gear, more ladder moves and more hours.
Common Questions After Sudden Damage
Can I climb up and tarp the roof on my own?
Please don't. Wet roofing and loose tile are easy to slip on, and a badly placed tarp can tear away or hold water in. Put buckets under drips, move valuables aside and let us do the climbing.
Will my homeowners insurance pay for this?
Your insurer decides, going by your policy and the cause of the damage. We document it carefully, give you a written estimate and meet your adjuster. Many policies expect reasonable steps to stop further damage, and tarping is one of them.
How long will a tarp hold?
A securely fastened tarp lasts a while, but it doesn't replace a roof. Sunlight wears it down and wind tugs at the edges. We'd schedule the permanent fix as soon as your claim and our calendar allow.
Can my existing tile or shingles be matched?
Usually. Lots of Cypress-area homes have concrete tile or composition shingles from older product lines, so we search salvage and current stock for the nearest match. If nothing matches, we go over your choices before starting.
